Hologram Adpressing ProcessHologram Adpressing Process
About the process
Hologram adpressing – is the processs of holographic image application to the product by means of standard holographic hot stamping technology. This technique allows to achieve such a surface formation which is impossible to produce by use printing inks. Moreover, hot stamping technique application allows to go beyond the verge of flat printed sheet due to relief (pattern) occurrence. Holographic image design is individually developed for each customer. The image can be either a repetitive pattern or a specially designed pattern for the customer.
Appliance objectives
As any holographic image applied to the package or product itself, an adpressed holographic image protects products and documents from counterfeit. By the way, hologram application promotes the image of the company, perfects product design, decorates package thus catching customer’s attention.
Application facilities
The best example of hologram adpressing is its application to the package of pharmaceutical products. Nevertheless, hologram can also be applied to any other product package. It’s important to realize that a holographic sign acts as a protective element. It’s necessary for the customers to be conscious of the purpose of the holographic sign application.
It’s evident that the product itself, packed, for example, in a cardboard box, can be replaced by another counterfeit product. For this reason it’s critically to determine hologram position in the package (e.g. hologram over a tube of cream).
Hologram adpressing technique is also widely used in labels manufacture. Although traditionally we associate these labels with alcoholic products, we should understand that hologram protects any label – from alcoholic to cosmetic one.
Finally, hologram adpressing technique is used to protect security papers. Counterfeit papers and documents can be easily eliminated due to holographic sign application. Real-world example says that due to hologram usage people managed to detain counterfeiters paying by raised bills when Euro was just issued. Moreover, the most favourite subjects to counterfeit are credit cards. Mass counterfeiting process of Master Card was stopped just after hologram application.
By the way, many advertising magazines use holograms to overstep the limits of a flat printing sheet. The hologram with the image of an eagle used on the cover of the “National Geographic” magazine resulted in 400.000 of new subscribers and approving comments of the readers.
To sum up, we’d like to note, that a hologram applied to the product automatically transfers it to the range of elite products as only careful and responsible manufactures care about their products’ counterfeit, thus raising degree of belief to the product and to the enterprise.
Method of hologram application
As it was said before, the hologram is applied by means of hot stamping technique. Due to pressure and high temperature a holographic sign is stuck to almost all kind of material. The most widely used surfaces are paper, cardboard and plastic. Hot stamping holograms differ from self-adhesive and tamper-evident holograms by the fact of special equipment necessity. There’s no need to spend money on expensive equipment in case of self-adhesive and tamper-evident holograms as they need either manual sticking or etiquette-pistol. Nevertheless, the advantage of hot stamping technique is that wear-resistance of holographic images is almost lifelong.
Inviting everyone to get acquainted with holographic securing techniques.
